CASA SIRENA

"House of the Mermaid" is a magical paradise set in a lush tropical garden. The property is surrounded by a lovely wall for total privacy, and is located one block from the most beautiful and pristine beach in Pacific Mexico. This estate is self-contained, and the pool and grounds are not shared with any other houses, so privacy is complete. The large two-bedroom house, which has 17-foot ceilings and an 85-foot-long terrace, was designed using traditional Mexican materials and was built entirely by hand. It is incomparably beautiful and romantic. The tile work is magnificent, and the rooms are very large and well-appointed. In keeping with the indigenous Mexican atmosphere, the house is also filled with lovely art and artifacts from all over Mexico. The overall effect is of beauty and tranquility. Casa Sirena sleeps 6, with two double beds in one bedroom and one queen in the other. It also boasts a gourmet kitchen, its own whole-house water purification system, Mexican land-line phone, CD player, DVD player, high-speed wireless internet access, free Vonage VOIP phone to US and Canada and central air conditioning. Daily maid service is provided. A really wonderful cook can be hired upon request.

Casita Sirena may be rented in addition to the main house. It is bright, cheery and also very charming. It sleeps 2, with a queen bed and a large bathroom with shower. It also has a small kitchenette and a terrace overlooking the garden for an ocean-view breakfast. However, in order to protect the privacy of guests of Casa Sirena, the casita is not rented separately from the main house.

Casa Sirena is located in Bucerias, Nayarit, Mexico, which is 15 minutes north of the Puerto Vallarta airport. Bucerias is a pretty, cobblestoned town with many restaurants to choose from, including the incomparable Mark’s Bar & Grill. The main plaza is a 10-minute walk away. There you will find a vibrant and authentic village experience, replete with Huichol Indians selling their crafts, school children dancing folkloric ballets and unforgettably exciting fiestas.

While renting a car will no doubt enhance your vacation experience, it certainly is not necessary. Bucerias is a half hour cab or bus ride in to Vallarta, where you can go for dinner, shopping and sightseeing. You can also take the bus north along the coast to explore the many other beautiful beaches.
